VISION: We envision a ministry that will empower women to participate in the transformation and ongoing redemption of our communities of faith, families, communities and ultimately the world.
Our Mission Statement
As a ministry of and for women, we affirm the value of women created in the imago del. Women in Ministry seeks to provide a loving, non-threatening forum to support and address the needs of women; to enhance their spiritual, cultural, psychological and economic well being; to nurture the ability to claim our own voices and create a life that promotes wholeness, in partnership with other ministries within Emmanuel. We commit ourselves to the broader vision of "Healing of the Nations"... women in particular.
We have set 4 goals:
1. To build Christian relationships that support, acknowledge and embrace our individuality, uniqueness and worth as women.
2. Educate and encourage our teens and young of our history as African Americans and the struggles of oppression we encountered; providing a loving and non-threatening forum when young women
can dialogue: on stereotypes, myths, taboos, peer pressure and sexuality.
3. Developing our voices as women against injustices directly affecting our families.
4. Embrace women around the globe in their struggle against injustices against family, thereby broadening our vision of "Healing of the Nations."
